Posting from Mile 53

I’m on I-10 heading for California. I’m stopping at Mike Potter’s place, then on to Veetarded! :D

Thanks, Paul!

Thanks to Paul and his Wife for hosting me in Chandler, Arizona.

Paul is following me!

Paul is following me!

Various other adventures

Thrasher and I went to BAP Import auto parts. It had all kinds of neato stuff.
My computer’s screen will not turn on when the temperature is over 85 degrees. If it is already on – then the screen will stay on above 85. It’s the turning on that dosen’t work.

When it gets above 95 degrees, the computer slows down, gets crashy and sometimes it turns the screen off, then on – of course – it fails at turning back on. I see this screen A LOT.

Arizona State Capitol

Did the state capitol in Phoenix, AZ

There’s a university of Phoenix here. Whoda thunk? :D

Canyon Lake

Took some pictures at Canyon Lake…

Sciroccohal

Met Sciroccohal at Paul’s place. He has a very very nice and shiny Mk1 Scirocco. He showed me a cool modification to the heckblend on the rear of the car – 74 LEDs!

Pima Air and Space Museum

Arizona and THE THING?

I SAW THE THING!! MUAHAHAHAHHAH!

I also saw a bunch of classic cars, and a Ford F100 rally.
The thing is at the bottom of the block of pictures below.

New Mexico Pictures

These are the leaving New Mexico pictures.

Left Alamogordo, NM for Tucson, AZ

I’m headed for the Pima Air & Space Museum. It’s so large – there are many planes outside!
Take a look at the map

Cool!

Alamogordo, New Mexico

Visited a pistachio tree farm. Then we went back to Holloman AFB to take pictures of the planes on the parade grounds.

Holloman AFB

Rave Racer took me on a tour of Holloman Air Force Base. There were stealth planes on sticks, German Tornado planes, the German Airforce, Remote-controlled F-4 Phantoms, and THE T-38s used as the enemy “MiGs” in the Top Gun movie.

White Sands National Monument

White Sands is very close to Alamogordo – where I’m staying tonight.

Valley of Fires

These are the pictures from the Valley of Fires – near Carizozo, New Mexico

Mk1 Scirocco Spotted!

I was in Encino, NM – a very abandoned town on US-285.

At an abandoned service station: a Mk1 Scirocco!!  This is the first unsolicited Scirocco sighting of this trip!! FINALLY!!! And it’s a good one too!

I can see the Cell tower I am posting from. These things aren’t very powerful out here. There is not much civilization around here either! It’s pretty neat being the only car in sight for miles and miles.
